LME Copper Cash Price Rises on Daily Index

At $8,210 per metric ton, the cash price of primary copper moved up 1.1 percent on Oct. 12, 2012, making it the day’s biggest mover on the LME. The copper 3-month price increased 1 percent on the LME to $8,212 per metric ton.

The prices of US copper producer grades 102, 110 and 122 finished the day following a 0.7 percent increase. The Japanese copper cash price was unchanged.

Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. After falling for two days, the price of Chinese copper wire rose 0.5 percent. Chinese copper bar gained 0.3 percent. The Chinese copper cash price inched up 0.2 percent. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese bright copper scrap remained essentially flat.
