On Dec. 19, 2012, the price of Chinese primary nickel fell by 1.1 percent on our daily stainless price index, making it the day’s biggest mover.
The Indian nickel cash price fell 0.6 percent. On the LME, the spot price of nickel rose 0.5 percent to $17,645 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the nickel 3-month price held steady around $17,700 per metric ton.
The price of Chinese 304 stainless steel coil and scrap remained essentially flat, and Chinese 316 stainless steel coil and scrap also didn’t move.
The price of Chinese ferro-chrome saw little movement. The price of Chinese ferro-moly remained essentially flat as well.
