Japanese Silver Changes Direction

 Following two days of increases, the price of Japanese silver dropped by 1.9 percent to end at JPY 892.00 ($9.86) per 10 grams on Jan. 29, 2013. The price of US silver fell 1.1 percent to $30.84 per ounce. The price of Indian silver declined 1.0 percent to INR 57,243 ($1,062) per kilogram. At CNY 6,290 ($1,011) per kilogram, Chinese silver fell 0.3 percent on Tuesday.

Indian gold bullion ended the day at INR 30,334 ($562.62) per 10 grams, after the 0.4 percent drop yesterday. US gold bullion prices saw a 0.3 percent decline to $1,654 per ounce. Japanese gold bullion held its value on Tuesday at JPY 4,854 ($53.65) per gram. Following two days of downward movement, the price of Chinese gold bullion held steady at CNY 334.19 ($53.69) per gram.

Chinese platinum bar finished the day down 1.4 percent to CNY 354.00 ($56.87) per gram. The price of Japanese platinum bar declined 1.2 percent to JPY 4,882 ($53.96) per gram, after two days of improvement. The price of US platinum bar was unchanged at $1,549 per ounce.

Japanese palladium bar gained 0.6 percent to finish at JPY 2,172 ($24.01) per gram. US palladium bar closed 0.5 percent lower at $736.00 per ounce. Chinese palladium bar saw little change in its price yesterday at CNY 180.00 ($28.92) per gram.
