Chinese Platinum Bar Moves Up 1.9%

Chinese platinum bar saw a 1.9 percent increase on Monday, May 6, reaching CNY 314.00 ($51.03) per gram and making it the biggest upwards shift of the day. At $1,498, the price of US platinum bar finished the market day up 0.2 percent per ounce. At JPY 4,628 ($46.69) per gram, the price of Japanese platinum bar was essentially unchanged.

The price of Chinese palladium bar increased 0.6 percent to CNY 155.00 ($25.19) per gram. US palladium bar ended the day at $692.00 per ounce, after the 0.1 percent drop yesterday. The price of Japanese palladium bar continues hovering around JPY 2,233 ($22.53) per gram for the fifth day in a row.

Indian gold bullion prices saw a 0.3 percent decline to INR 27,290 ($506.78) per 10 grams. Chinese gold bullion finished the day up 0.3 percent to CNY 298.02 ($48.43) per gram. US gold bullion prices inched up 0.2 percent to $1,471 per ounce. The price of Japanese gold bullion showed little movement yesterday at JPY 4,547 ($45.87) per gram.

US silver prices rose 1.3 percent to $24.13 per ounce. Chinese silver gained 0.8 percent to finish at CNY 4,835 ($785.75) per kilogram. After a 0.6 percent increase, Indian silver finished the day at INR 45,410 ($843.27) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver remained essentially flat at JPY 740.00 ($7.47) per 10 grams.
