US Silver Increases 3.2%

On Monday, January 13, the day’s biggest mover was US silver, which saw a 3.2 percent increase to $20.17 per ounce. Following a two-day drop, the price of Chinese silver increased by 3.0 percent to CNY 4,085 ($675.17) per kilogram. The price of Indian silver increased 1.7 percent to INR 45,825 ($745.79) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver rose 1.1 percent to JPY 669.00 ($6.44) per 10 grams after a two-day drop.

At $1,249, the price of US gold bullion finished the market day up 1.7 percent per ounce. Chinese gold bullion prices rose 1.2 percent to CNY 246.10 ($40.68) per gram. Japanese gold bullion gained 0.9 percent to finish at JPY 4,179 ($40.20) per gram. At INR 28,150 ($458.13) per 10 grams, Indian gold bullion fell 0.3 percent on Monday.

After a 1.7 percent increase, Chinese platinum bar finished the day at CNY 300.00 ($49.58) per gram. After a 1.3 percent increase, the price of US platinum bar finished the day at $1,432 per ounce. Japanese platinum bar prices inched up 0.4 percent to JPY 4,801 ($46.18) per gram.

Up 1.3 percent since on Monday, the price of Japanese palladium bar reached a 30-day high of JPY 2,457 ($23.63) per gram. The price of US palladium bar increased 1.0 percent to $742.00 per ounce. The price of Chinese palladium bar rose by 0.6 percent to CNY 164.00 ($27.11) per gram after a three-day flat streak.
